site.btaBGN 14 Mln Secured for Disaster Response Equipment, Says Labour Minister

A total of BGN 14 million has been allocated for disaster response equipment and gear under a project financed by the Human Resources Development Programme, Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov said at a briefing on Thursday.

The funds will be used to purchase drones, boats, and protective clothing to support volunteer units, municipalities, and the Interior Ministry’s General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection. Training sessions for volunteers are also planned to ensure they can perform their duties in the most effective way possible, Gutsanov explained.

“Firefighters and volunteers are heroes,” the Minister stressed, voicing gratitude for their work. “It is an honour for our ministry to contribute, in any way possible, to overcoming disasters,” he added.
