site.btaPresident: Commission for Protection against Discrimination Proved Equal Treatment Is a Cause

Over the past two decades, the Commission for Protection against Discrimination (CPD) has proved that equal treatment of all citizens is a cause, President Iliana Iotova said in a congratulatory address marking the 20th anniversary of the Commission’s establishment. The message was read out at a ceremony held Tuesday evening.

According to the head of State, this cause can be achieved through joint and sustained initiatives and campaigns.

In her address, Iotova highlighted that the CPD’s priority is to protect citizens by aiming not only to build an inclusive public environment, but also to change attitudes and provide equal opportunities for development. With its work, the Commission stands against hate speech and upholds European principles, the President said.

Iliana Iotova also expressed appreciation to all former and current members of the CPD in her congratulatory message.
