Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev conferred with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bulgaria, Dai Qingli, on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The talks highlighted the traditional and long-standing relations between Bulgaria and China and the results achieved in their bilateral cooperation. Georgiev underscored the pragmatic nature of the relationship, based on reciprocity and equality.

The two sides noted the potential for further development in the trade and economic sphere, emphasizing the importance of concrete steps to balance bilateral trade through expanding the volume and range of Bulgarian exports and improving market access for Bulgarian products and services in China.

The meeting also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with both sides stressing the importance of strengthening ties in education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges as key to fostering mutual understanding and closer relations.
