The Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism (BUBSPA) presented its annual awards at a ceremony held Tuesday evening at the Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort in Pravets. The town hosted the 12th Annual Congress of BUBSPA.
The jury was made up of Csilla Mezosi, Secretary General of the European Spas Association; BUBSPA Ambassador Meglena Plugchieva; Mariana Cholakova, Honorary Consul of Germany in Plovdiv and PR expert; Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev; and the leading pulmonologist, Prof. Kosta Kostov.
Following are the winners:
Best Five-Star SPA Hotel Award: Kashmir Wellness & SPA Hotel in Velingrad;
Best Seaside Five-Star SPA Hotel Award: Casa di Fiore Medical & SPA in Kranevo;
Best Five-Star Mountain SPA Hotel Award: Sante SPA Hotel in Velingrad;
Best Four-Star City SPA Hotel Award: The Five Elements Medical SPA Hotel in Sapareva Banya;
Best Five-Star Resort SPA Hotel Award: HVD Reina del Mar in Obzor;
Best Five-Star SPA Complex Award: Grand Hotel Therme – Banya;
Best Five-Star SPA and Sports Complex Award: Therma Village SPA & Sport in Kranevo;
Best SPA Concept Award: Kings' Valley Medical & SPA Hotel near Kazanlak;
Best Medical SPA Concept Award: Grand Resort Pavel Banya;
Best Four-Star Medical SPA Hotel Award: Mineral Yagoda in Yagoda;
Best Five-Star Medical SPA Hotel Award: Sevtopolis Medical & SPA in Pavel Banya.
A special certificate for contribution to municipalities under the motto "365 Days of Sustainable Health Tourism" was awarded to the municipalities of Hisarya, Kyustendil, Sandanski, Chepelare, Sapareva Banya and Velingrad.
Dr Ognyan Softov and Dr Svetlozar Dimitrov were honoured for their contribution to health tourism on behalf of the scientific community.
