Four political parties are planning to form a civic–political alliance against corruption. The four - Edinenie (Unity), Here We Come, the Green Movement, and Middle European Class held a national meeting at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia on Sunday.
“Four parties are forming a coalition, or rather a civic–political alliance. Our task is to involve the largest possible part of the Bulgarian society as possible - activists and organizations - in the process of reclaiming the state, fighting corruption, and promoting constructive policies,” Ivan Hristanov, chairman of Edinenie, told BTA.
“We are meeting with civic organizations and their representatives because it is high time for political parties to be in direct contact and to become a solid, unified anti-corruption bloc,” said Maria Kappon, chairwoman of Here We Come.
According to Daniela Bozhinova, co-chair of the Green Movement, the aim is to attract citizens so that they can participate and have a voice in a future coalition.
“All the organizations here have proven over time that we fight against all malpractices through concrete actions,” said Ivan Ivanov, deputy chairman of Middle European Class.
