The bilingual multimedia news portal FAR is marking its tenth anniversary, the editorial team announced. Founded on March 1, 2016, in the town of Tsaribrod, FAR publishes content in both Bulgarian and Serbian and has focused on local and regional news.

Over the past decade, the outlet has established itself as a recognizable and influential media platform, emphasizing professionalism and independence.

According to the editorial board, the portal has aimed to go beyond the role of a traditional media outlet, becoming a symbol of perseverance and a defender of freedom of speech in the local environment. The editors highlighted that FAR’s development has been shaped by adherence to professional journalistic standards and ethics, even when this approach led to significant challenges.

From its launch, the portal set out to provide objective, timely, responsible, and honest information to all citizens, without alignment with political structures or centers of influence, the editors said.
