Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange Data Show Electricity for Business to Fall by Over 4% on Sunday

Electricity traded on the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (IBEX) Day-Ahead market segment was priced at an average of EUR 53.37 per megawatt-hour (excluding VAT) on Saturday, according to exchange data published after market close. The transactions are for delivery on March 1.

The exchange closed on Friday at an average price of EUR 55.85 per megawatt-hour. This means electricity for Bulgarian businesses on Sunday will be 4.44% cheaper compared with Saturday’s price.

The average price of peak electricity (9 a.m. - 8 p.m.) for Sunday stands at EUR 36.12 per megawatt-hour, while off-peak electricity (1 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. - 12 a.m.) was traded at an average of EUR 70.61 per megawatt-hour.

IBEX data show that a total of 81,999.35 megawatt-hours of electricity were sold.

On the Intraday market segment, the weighted average price for 60-minute products stood at EUR 20.08 per megawatt-hour (excluding VAT).

For 15-minute products, the weighted average daily price at the time of reporting was EUR 22.25 per megawatt-hour (excluding VAT).
