Bulgaria's outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov Monday conveyed his condolences to the loved ones of the victims of the high-speed train crash in Spain in a post on X.

"Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with the Spanish people," Zhelyazkov wrote.

Two high-speed trains derailed in the region of Andalusia, southern Spain, late Sunday evening, AFP and dpa reported. An Iryo high-speed train, operated by the Italian company Trenitalia and travelling from Malaga to Madrid, left its track and crashed onto the adjacent track. The accident killed 39 people and injured 152 others, according to Reuters.
