The district prosecutor's office in Stara Zagora has filed another charge against the 26-year-old man accused of causing bodily harm to an 18-year-old girl in Stara Zagora, the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv said. G. G. is accused that in the period between June 24 and 25 2023 in the conditions of a continuing crime, he threatened with murder the 18-year-old D. M., as this threat could arouse a well-founded fear of its implementation. On two occasions, he sent text messages with threats for murder via an internet application.
Witnesses were questioned and documentary evidence was collected in the pre-trial proceedings. The supervising prosecutor also ordered a measure "prohibiting the person from leaving the territory of Bulgaria".
The accused was detained by police officers from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Stara Zagora on Sunday morning, around 7:30, at the entrance to Stara Zagora, while he was travelling in a car.
G. G. was convicted of causing bodily harm on hooligan motives.
More details of the case are expected to be released later on Sunday at a joint briefing by police and prosecutors.
