site.btaCaretaker Economy and Industry Minister to Tackle Rising Prices in Coordination with Other Ministries

Newly appointed caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Shtonova took on the post from Peter Dilov in a changing of the guard ceremony here on Thursday. 

Outlining her priorities, Shtonova said she would take decisive steps to curb rising prices and stressed that the issue would be addressed in coordination with other ministries.

“I believe that the greatest advantage is that I know the institution well and can begin working from day one without losing time. I come from the business sector, where you have to be operational and make swift decisions. I will maintain dialogue and rely on the administration staff,” she said.

Shtonova also underscored her commitment to strengthening dialogue with the business community and fostering sustainable economic growth.

She noted that there would be continuity in the ministry’s work and that work on established priorities would continue.

Dilov wished Shtonova success in her new role and expressed confidence that the ministry’s team would remain committed to advancing the development of the Bulgarian economy.
