The Agra, Vinaria and Foodtech exhibitions retain its status as the largest agricultural exhibitions, with over 420 companies from 16 countries participating in 2026, General Director of the Plovdiv International Fair Dr. Ivan Sokolov said during the opening of the 11th Agra, Vinaria and Foodtech exhibitions in Plovdiv on Tuesday.
Sokolov noted that the Vinaria exhibition records a 20% growth with over 150 exhibitors from 10 countries participating this year. The Foodtech exhibition is also developing and growing, with 153 manufacturers and traders from eight countries participating. He pointed out that the accompanying programme includes over 30 events, including various business forums, where new products and innovations will be presented.
Outgoing Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Yanislav Yanchev congratulated the organizers of Agra, noting that the organization is at a very high level not only for Bulgaria, but also for Southeast Europe. "It is an honor that this edition of Agra also passes under the auspices of the Agriculture and Food Ministry," Yanchev noted.
Nikolay Mitev, chair of the Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Agricultural Equipment and Technologies in Bulgaria, pointed out that their performance at the fair depends on the current state of agriculture in the country and in Europe as a whole. He noted that despite the difficulties famers face today, the number of exhibitors has not decreased in 2026.
