There are over 150,000 Bulgarians in the Odessa region, making them the third largest ethnic group according to the latest official census in Ukraine.

There are 50,000-60,000 Bulgarians living in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Belgorod-Dnestrovsky districts.
