site.btaPresident Radev Arrives on Official Visit in Kazakhstan
Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev arrived on an official visit in Astana on Sunday. During the visit, Radev will discuss ways to develop bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. A key focus will be promoting trade and economic relations with Kazakhstan, which is a major partner of the EU in Central Asia.
Upon his arrival in Astana, President Radev will hold a private meeting with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Radev's press secretariat said on Saturday.
On June 9, Radev will be welcomed with a ceremony by President Tokayev at the Akorda Residence. The two will hold a one-to-one meeting, followed by plenary talks between the official delegations. The presidents will make a joint media statement. Several agreements will be signed in their presence: a memorandum of understanding on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, a memorandum on cooperation between the diplomatic institutes of the two countries, and agreements on cooperation between Sofia and Astana, and between Plovdiv and Shymkent.
Presidents Radev and Tokayev will participate in the Kazakhstan-Bulgaria Business Forum organized by the national company Kazakh Invest. While in Astana, President Radev will also meet with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and visit the Astana International Financial Centre.
On the occasion of the visit, Bulgarian flags are displayed at the international airport in Astana and throughout the city, with the national flag also featured at public transport stops.
