Bulgaria recorded its third consecutive victory and finished first in its group at the U18 Men’s Division 1 European Championship, held in Rio Maior, Portugal from August 18 to 24.

In the last match of the group stage of the championship, the Bulgarian water polo players achieved another convincing victory against Denmark, 23:8 (3:3, 8:1, 7:3, 5:1). Georgi Venov was again the top scorer with 7 goals. Previously, Bulgaria defeated Ireland 28:8 and Switzerland 23:14.

With three wins out of three matches, the Bulgarian team convincingly took first place in Group B with a total of 9 points and qualified for the quarterfinals.

The team’s next match will be on August 22, with their opponent to be determined after the remaining matches in the third round of the group stage are played later today.
