Bulgaria's ensemble won gold in both the all-around competition and the team rankings at the 3rd FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championships in Sofia on Saturday. Raya Bozhilova, Yoana Moteva, Anania Dimitrova, Gabriela Traykova, Ivayla Velkovska and Elena Hristova collected a total of 49.900 points after having 24.500 on hoops and 25.400 on clubs.

The team qualified for the Sunday finals on both apparatuses in the ensembles with a first-place finish on clubs and a third-place finish on hoops.

In the all-around, Brazil was second with 48.900 (23.800 and 25.100) and Ukraine was third with 48.400 (24.000 and 24.400).

In the team standings, Bulgaria, composed of Magdalena Valkova, Aleksa Rasheva and Anastasia Kaleva and the girls' ensemble, took first place with 147.350 points, ahead of the US with 143.200 and Uzbekistan with 141.850.

Bulgaria thus defended its title in the all-around in the ensembles and in the team standings from the 2023 Championships in Cluj-Napoca.

A record amount of teams participated in the ensembles competition in Sofia - 35.

Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova congratulated the rhythmic gymnastics ensemble on winning the title, the parliamentary press centre said. “Once again, you have defended the world class of Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics and brought joy to the fans of this beautiful and captivating sport,” she said, quoted in the release.
