Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov opened the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup. The official ceremony was also attended by the President of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Iliana Raeva, FIG Technical Delegate of the European Cup Isabelle De Cossio and Technical Delegate of the European Cup Evgenia Vilayeva.

"Welcome to Burgas! Welcome to this celebration of beauty and sportsmanship. It is an honour and privilege for me as mayor to welcome you. I hope you will have good impressions of our city. Burgas loves rhythmic gymnastics and strives to develop it to the maximum. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this wonderful sporting event happen, but it would not have been possible without the active work of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, successfully led by Iliana Raeva. I would like to thank her for the good cooperation and partnership. Burgas is becoming a small branch of Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics and will continue to be so," said Dimitar Nikolov at the opening.

During the ceremony, the official guests received a special plaque and a Bulgarian rose from the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, and greetings to all present were sent by the cheerleaders from the Goethe German Language School “” led by Dilyana Georgieva, the dancers from the Dune dance school led by Petya Stoykova and those from the Strandzha dance ensemble. The anthem was performed by the Representative Brass Band of Burgas.
