site.btaTaekwon-do ITF Bulgaria Open 2025 Kicks Off in Plovdiv
An international tournament, Taekwon-do ITF Bulgaria Open 2025, kicked off in Plovdiv, the Ministry of Youth and Sports said on Saturday. Over 700 entrants from 14 countries are taking part in the tournament, which will close on Sunday. They are competing in two Taekwon-do disciplines: sparring and forms.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Dimitar Georgiev said in an opening speech that Taekwon-do ITF Bulgaria Open shows that Bulgaria can organize top-class events which inspire young people to aspire for the summits of European and world sport. "I am glad that the tournament attracts ever more nations and entrants and contributes to Bulgaria's good image on the world sport stage," Georgiev said.
Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov was also at the opening.
The tournament is organized with the support of Plovdiv Municipality, the Bulgarian Taekwon-do ITF Federation and the Trakia Taekwon-do Club.
