BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.
Nikola Yankov is the top-of-the-list candidate of Blue Bulgaria for Plovdiv City's 16th multi-member constituency, the coalition press service said here Thursday.
Nikola Yankov founded Expat Capital in 2006 and has been managing partner of the company ever since. Between 1995 and 2001 he held managerial positions in international companies, including Kraft Jacobs Suchard and Solvay Sodi. He was deputy minister of economy from 2001 to 2003, where he was responsible for the development and regulation of the industrial sector and chaired the Commission for Temporary Protective Trade Measures, the coalition said. Between 2003 and 2005 he was deputy minister of transport and communications, where he was responsible for State-controlled transport and telecommunications companies, as well as for attracting private investment in infrastructure projects such as airports and ports.
Yankov is from Plovdiv and graduated from the Plovdiv Language School. In 1994 he graduated in Consumer Economics from Cornell University in the United States. He speaks English, Russian and French, the coalition added.
