site.btaEducation Ministry to Focus on Expanding Bulgarian Studies Abroad

One of the priorities of the Ministry of Education and Science will be to increase the number of Bulgarian language programmes abroad. This was discussed between the caretaker Education Minister Prof. Sergei Ignatov and Bulgarian language teachers in foreign universities during a meeting at the Ministry here on Thursday.

The discussion posed some key questions concerning teachers' working conditions and housing, and creation of an archive of Bulgarian films to support learning activities. "Our team is dedicated to improving your status and expanding Bulgaria's presence abroad," the Minister said.

Another topic of discussion were opportunities for developing summer seminars for students learning Bulgarian, including foreign students and ethnic Bulgarians who wish to learn more about the country.
