The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved a natural gas price for September of BGN 60.52/MWh or EUR 30.94/MWh, excluding access, transmission, excise duty, and VAT. At this price, Bulgargaz EAD will sell natural gas to end suppliers and to persons licensed to produce and transmit heat energy. The approved price is about 2.5% lower than it was in August, which was BGN 62.09/MWh, said the EWRC.
The regulator approved the price after analyzing the current data submitted by Bulgargaz EAD. The price mix includes the entire contracted quantity of Azerbaijani natural gas supplied via the Bulgaria-Greece interconnector (IGB) under the long-term contract with Azerbaijan. These quantities cover a significant part of consumption and play an important role in achieving a favorable price for blue fuel. Bulgargaz has also secured quantities of liquefied natural gas for September under contracts concluded with traders, following an organized tender with requirements for a minimum delivery price and proposed payment method.
The quantities provided cover the public supplier's commitments for September to end suppliers and heating companies, as well as the quantities under bilateral contracts with industrial customers.
The decision of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission to approve the price of natural gas for September 2025 will be published on the regulator's website.
