site.btaBulgarian Wrestling Federation Repays BGN 314,570.05 to Youth and Sports Ministry

The Bulgarian Wrestling Federation (BWF) has reimbursed BGN 314,570.05 to the Ministry of Youth and Sports following identified financial violations and abuses committed during the tenure of former BWF president Hristo Marinov and executive board members Grisha Ganchev and Danail Ganchev, the Federation said on its official website on Thursday.

The repayment follows an audit conducted by the Ministry for the period from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023. The inspection uncovered financial irregularities, which led to the issuance of an official report demanding reimbursement of the funds. The report was delivered to the BWF current President Stanka Zlateva.

At the beginning of August, the Ministry said that it will begin providing regular updates on the outcomes of audits carried out on sports organizations across the country.

The Ministry further noted that the Bulgarian Tennis Federation and the Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation also have outstanding financial obligations.
