site.btaRomania's Biggest Air Show to Take Place over Weekend


The Bucharest International Air Show, scheduled to take place between August 29 and 31, will involve 200 aircraft, pilots from a dozen countries, and 17 hours of spectacle in the air, the organizers told BTA. The event is expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors to the Baneasa Airport near Bucharest.
The first flights will take place on Saturday morning with F-16, C-27J Spartan, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. There will also be a simulation of a dogfight with aircraft bearing identification marks from World War II.
The French Air Force will perform with nine Alpha Jet aircraft in a real air ballet in the colors of France. The British Royal Air Force will participate with nine Hawk T1 aircraft.
Pilots from Latvia, Austria, Poland, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, Lithuania, including Lithuanian pilot Jurgis Kairys, a world-renowned aerobatic pilot, will showcase their skills during the event.
