One person has been killed and six others injured in a drone attack on Odesa Wednesday evening launched from the Black Sea area, according to a post on Telegram by Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.
Earlier, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, also reported on Telegram that explosions were heard in the city and an air-raid alert had been declared.
Local Telegram channels reported that drones were attacking the Ukrainian Black Sea city from the sea. Authorities urged residents to rush to the bomb shelters.
For the second consecutive day, a Bulgarian delegation has been in Odesa region and the city of Odesa for a celebration at the Bolhrad High School of Georgi Sava Rakovski and the 205th anniversary of the birth of Georgi Rakovski and observances of an anniversary of Bulgarian poet and Revival figure Dobri Chintulov (who studied at the Odesa Theological Seminary).
Bulgarians in Odesa Oblast number over 150,000 and constitute the third-largest community according to the latest official census in Ukraine. In the city of Odesa itself, around 50–60,000 Bulgarians live. The largest concentrated Bulgarian populations are in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
