Ivan Sotirov, the top-of-the-list candidate of the Blue Bulgaria coalition in the Sofia Region multi-member constituency, visited the municipality of Mirkovo and met with Mayor Tsvetanka Yotina on Wednesday, according to the coalition’s campaign headquarters.

Yotina expressed her support for Blue Bulgaria, for which Sotirov thanked her.

Sotirov said he was grateful for the support of Yotina, noting that they have been like-minded since the early years when the "blue idea" united millions of Bulgarians.

The "blue idea" is a reference to the massive anti-communist movement that swept Bulgaria after the 1989 fall of totalitarianism.

He described it as both an honour and a responsibility to receive the trust of someone who, in his words, carries the revival spirit of the municipality of Mirkovo in her heart, especially as she has been elected mayor for a fifth term.
