site.btaBulgaria to Receive Funding to Participate in Eight European Defence Projects
Bulgaria will receive funding to participate in eight joint European defence projects, according to data presented by the European Commission on Wednesday. In total, the Commission will allocate EUR 1.07 billion to 57 defence projects.
Bulgaria will take part in a project aimed at enhancing cybersecurity, with a total value of EUR 52 million. It is also expected to participate in a project on dual-use orbital systems with a budget of EUR 57 million, as well as a project for the development of low-cost reconnaissance satellites with a budget of EUR 65 million.
Bulgarian specialists will join a EUR 5 million project for the assessment of intelligence data using quantum technologies, and a EUR 79 million project for naval capabilities. Furthermore, Bulgaria is expected to participate in a project for the further development of air combat systems worth EUR 28 million, and a project for the development of military training simulators using lasers and artificial intelligence worth EUR 4 million. The final project with Bulgarian participation, worth EUR 6 million, foresees the development of devices for detecting high-speed targets in poor visibility conditions.
