The crew of one of the Bulgarian short films featured at the 11th Burgas International Film Festival will be presented with the Provision of Film Production Equipment special award, the organizers said.

The award is intended for participants in the national short film selection and is provided by the production company Voesoli, a partner of the festival. The Burgas-based studio provides professional equipment, services and training for film production. It also works to connect film communities in Bulgaria and Czechia to promote international cooperation. Voesoli participates in various film projects, supports local initiatives and runs the Voesoli Film Lab educational programme.

The company was founded by director and VFX artist Kiril Todorov, whose films have been selected and awarded at international festivals. Following a series of short films, he is also producing his first feature film, Embug, scheduled to premiere in 2026, the festival team said. His professional experience includes working at studios such as DNEG, UPP, and Troll VFX, as well as participating in productions such as the action film Black Adam (2022), Wonder Woman (2017) and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019).

Through Voesoli, Kiril Todorov is engaged in activities supporting young filmmakers and facilitating film production.

The 11th Burgas International Film Festival will take place between July 20 and 25 and will present a selection of international and Bulgarian feature films, documentaries, short films and experimental films. As is tradition, the programme will also include meetings with filmmakers, discussions and special events.
