site.btaDefence Minister Zapryanov to Attend EU Informal Defence Ministerial in Copenhagen Aug. 29

An informal meeting of the defence ministers of the EU Member States will be held on 29 August 2025 in Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark, the Defence Ministry said here on Thursday. The event is part of the calendar of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU. The delegation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence will be led by Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov. 

The defence ministers will discuss the EU’s military support for Ukraine, the EU’s defence readiness, including the implementation of the priorities set out in the White Paper on European Defence - Readiness 2030 and in the ReArm Europe Plan, аs well as the state of military missions and operations under the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy. 

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Chair of the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Security and Defence Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann are invited to participate in the sessions of the informal meeting of defence ministers.
