site.btaFinance Ministry Presents Information Website on Bulgaria's Euro Changeover

An information website, dedicated to the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria and included in the communication strategy for the country's accession to the euro area, was officially presented by the Finance Ministry on Monday. The purpose of the website is to provide information on all aspects and circumstances related to the euro adoption process. It also provides information on the euro area and Bulgaria's path towards it.

The website includes videos, image galleries, documents, a calendar presenting Bulgaria's path towards the euro. There is also a possibility to share the content on social media. 

The "Is it true that...?" section debunks with facts some of the most common false claims and unfounded concerns related to Bulgaria's accession to the euro area. In this context, different points of view are also sought in the "Experts speak" section. With short interviews, economists, financiers, trade unionists, heads of business associations comment on "hot" topics for consumers about the effects and impact on business and people's everyday lives of the euro adoption, the Finance Ministry said. 

The website also publishes media coverage of the process of Bulgaria's euro area accession, where articles and interviews present the opinion of institutions and experts on the subject.

The web page has been developed as part of a framework contract between the Finance Ministry and Information Services, the press release said.
