site.btaAwards Presented at 11th Agra Exhibitions in Plovdiv

The most significant scientific and business developments in agriculture, the wine-growing industry and the food industry were honored at the 11th Agra, Vinaria, Foodtech exhibitions at the Plovdiv International Fair on Friday.

"Innovations are a force that drives the agricultural sector forward," said Plovdiv International Fair General Director Prof. Ivan Sokolov during the ceremony. He noted that innovations prove that the entrepreneurial spirit is motivated and the scientific potential is mobilized. He announced that Dr. Marieta Nesheva from the Plovdiv Institute of Fruit Growing was named the AGRO SCIENCE 2026 Laureate for her contribution to modern research in the sector.

In the Machinery and Equipment for Crop Production category, Plovdiv Regional Governor Prof. Hristina Yancheva presented Agroguide Ioannidis Mike with a diploma for their mechanical combine harvester, which can be used for various crops. Agropolygroup EOOD and SATNET EOOD were also awarded for their innovative machines in this category.

In the Wine Production category, a plaque and diploma were awarded to Acrux Investments AD for a membrane system for reducing or removing alcohol in wines, while the Institute of Mountain Livestock and Agriculture in Troyan was awarded a plaque and a diploma in the Animal Husbandry category for raw-smoked sausage of the Montbeliard sort. The Nikola Pushkarov Institute of Soil Science, Agrotechnology and Plant Protection was awarded for its developments in biomass pyrolysis for combined drip irrigation in the Scientific Activity category. 

The 11th Agra, Vinaria, Foodtech exhibitions are organized by the Plovdiv International Fair and are held under the auspices of the Agriculture and Food Ministry. The co-organizers of the forum are AGROTECH, the Agricultural Academy, the Union of Oenologists and the Plovdiv University of Food Technologies.
