site.btaSvetoslav Benchev Re-elected as Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association Chair

The Management Board of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association (BPGA) elected Svetoslav Benchev as its chair for a new three-year term, the organization announced on Friday.

He has headed the association since December 2023. However, with an amendment to the statute, the chair’s term is now three years in order to align it with that of the Management Board.

Addressing the members of BPGA, Benchev stated that he would continue to uphold the organization’s principles – equal treatment of all participants in the fuel market, transparency in BPGA’s activities, and partnership with state institutions, political parties and the non-governmental sector, the statement said.

Benchev has been part of BPGA since 2010, when he joined as an expert in European and international law. Since 2015 he has worked as a legal adviser, and from 2019 he has served as the association’s chief legal adviser until his election as chair.
