A new cycling route will follow the course of the Sava River, linking Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, as well as three European capitals - Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade, the regional outlet N1 reports.

The route, named after the Sava, will offer cyclists 1,136 kilometres of adventure through diverse landscapes, from the Alps to the Pannonian Plain, and will showcase numerous natural and cultural landmarks, riverside towns and rural communities.

The proposed route will be officially integrated into the EuroVelo network of 17 long-distance cycling routes criss-crossing Europe no later than 2029, the Serbian edition of Forbes says.
