Hristo Markov has been appointed Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA), the Government Information Service reported Monday. Markov has been NRA Deputy Executive Director since November 3. The Government's decision was adopted in absentia.
A new NRA head had to be appointed after Rumen Spetsov was dismissed by the Government so he can become special commercial administrator of Russian oil company Lukoil's four businesses in Bulgaria. On Monday, Spetsov was registered in the Commercial Register as the special commercial administrator of Lukoil Neftochim Burgas, the largest oil refinery in Bulgaria and the Balkans, shows a company file check.
According to information on the NRA website, Markov is a long-standing NRA employee with management and expert experience and over 30 years of experience in revenue administration. Before being appointed NRA Deputy Executive Director on November 3, he headed the NRA Territorial Directorate in Sofia.
