Beglika Fest, the oldest nature conservation festival in Bulgaria, will return after a two-year hiatus from August 7 to 10 at the Golyam Beglik Reservoir near the town of Batak (Southern Bulgaria), the event organizers said on Friday.
The main theme of this year’s edition is Beglika Generation, meaning people who do not wait for the world to get better, but create a better world themselves, the festival team said. The programme will include over 400 events, including a forum dedicated to the sustainable management of water resources in Bulgaria and in the Rhodope Mountains in particular.
The festival promotes living with a minimal ecological footprint and limits car access to the area.
The event is realized with the financial support of the National Culture Fund.
