During the debates over the fifth no-confidence motion against the Rosen Zhelyazkov Cabinet taking place in Parliament on Wednesday, GERB-UDF MP Georgi Krastev stated that most of the sponsors of the vote have already had the opportunity to lead the justice sector in several governments and show what their capabilities.

Krastev said: "When they criticize us, let them first answer why they did not fulfil their grandiose promises for judicial reform, even though they had a minister until now." He noted that justice is the backbone of any fair society, which is why "the current government has set itself the ambitious goal of judicial reform, which for us is not based on pre-election slogans and promises but on consistent actions that when combined lead to improving the work of the independent court."

Among this government's achievements, the MP listed introducing electronic court proceedings, which is a step towards digitizing the judicial system and reducing the courts' workload; adopting legislation that unlocked the Recovery and Resilience Plan; taking steps to combat the real estate mafia.

Another GERB-UDF MP, Manoil Manev, said that this vote of no confidence was initiated by people whose hopes were dashed, among whom MECh leader Radostin Vasilev, Democratic Bulgaria Chair Atanas Atanassov, and Vazrazhdane Deputy Floor Leader Peter Petrov. Addressing Vasilev directly, Manev said: "You wanted to become interior minister, but after this vote, there's no way that could happen."

In response to Manev, MECh Deputy Floor Leader Nikolay Radulov said that his party has no ambitions to head the Ministry of Interior. He added: "Our ministry will be the Ministry of Equity, and it will be established soon, shortly after you completely mess things up."

During the debates, Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning Deputy Floor Leader Hamid Hamid stated that the most criminal government in Bulgaria's recent history is the one headed by Nikolay Denkov (in office as prime minster between June 2023 and April 2024). He was confident that the current government will serve its full term, as there will be no snap parliamentary elections.
