The Government will propose the President to issue a decree appointing Miroslav Rashkov as Secretary General of the Interior Ministry. The decision was made during the open-to-media part of the regular Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.

Miroslav Rashkov is currently acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.

Later Thursday, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov waived criticism from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria that Rashkov acts on behalf of MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski. Mitov described Rashkov as "a professional with a long career, who rose through the ranks under various leaderships of the Interior Ministry".
