The 61st National Beekeeping Meeting North - South will take place in the Beklemeto tourist complex near Troyan on August 23, Petar Mutafov, Chair of the Troyan Beekeeping Association Mother, told BTA on Wednesday.

The programme will include a lecture by Nedelcho Dimitrov, related to the challenges facing today's beekeeping and the preparation of bee colonies for the autumn-winter period. A discussion club of municipal and national associations of beekeepers and honey producers will also be organized with the participation of chairs of municipal societies and members.

Certified honey and bee products, beekeeping equipment, specialized literature and queen bees from licensed farms will be offered on site. The focus is entirely on bee products and equipment, and the sale of products other than beekeeping products will be explicitly prohibited, Mutafov emphasized.

The Troyan Beekeeping Association Mother has over 60 members. It is the main organizer of the event, with the support of Troyan Municipality.
