site.btaSofia to Host Annual Meeting of Deputy Chiefs of Defence from SEDM Process Member States

An annual meeting of the Deputy Chiefs of Defence/General Staff from the member states of the South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) process will take place in Sofia on June 11 and 12, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday. The event will be hosted by Bulgaria’s Deputy Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Mihail Popov.

The forum will bring together Deputy Chiefs of Defence and representatives from the SEDM member states, the Headquarters of the South-Eastern European Brigade, the Centre for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC), and the Regional Cooperation Council.

The meetings of the Deputy Chiefs of Defence (DCHOD) of countries in Southeast Europe are part of the SEDM process and are held annually in one of the member states on a rotational basis. Bulgaria hosted SEDM DCHOD meetings in 2006 and 2012, the Bulgarian Defence Ministry added.
