Good corporate governance and conduct is the basis of a stable and trustworthy capital market, said  Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) Chair Vasil Golemanski during  a conference, titled "OECD Corporate Principles - Good Practices for Sustainable Growth", organized by the FSC and the National Corporate Governance Commission (NCGC) on Wednesday.

Golemanski recalled that the FSC actively participates in the Corporate Governance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the development and updating of the principles of good corporate governance, which were adopted in 2023.

Golemanski noted that a lot of work was put into introducing the updated principles and on June 5 this year, the code of good corporate governance was adopted by the FSC.

"I can declare that the FSC will make every effort to ensure that this code is observed by its supervised entities," said Golemanski. "I personally and my colleagues at the FSC believe that good corporate governance is one of the foundations for building trust between investors and issuers and for ensuring stable growth and development of the capital market," he noted.

"We expect that a large part of our issuers will comply with these principles, because they will be convinced that good corporate governance and behavior in the capital market is the basis of a stable and trust-filled capital market," said Golemanski.
