The Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office in North Macedonia announced an operation on Friday resulting in the arrest of Ilija Stoilev, director of the Agency for Financial Support in Agriculture and Rural Development, and the manager of a company ineligible for funding through the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in Rural Development (IPARD).
Three other individuals were also detained, suspected of acting as intermediaries in the execution of a ЕUR 50,000 bribe.
The Skopje court is currently reviewing the pre-trial detention measures for the five detainees.
