site.btaYes, Bulgaria: Consitituonal Court's Decision on President's Request Was Expected

The decision of the Constitutional Court on the admissibility of the president’s request is expected, Atanas Slavov, MP of Yes Bulgaria, told journalists in Parliament.
On Tuesday, the court admitted for consideration part of President Rumen Radev's request regarding the decision of Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova to reject his proposal for a referendum.
“Our view from the very beginning was that this referendum would violate the Constitution, the submitted request has a very clear answer in a previous decision of the Court from last year and the court did what was expected,” Slavov said. ”There will be an interpretative decision on one of the questions asked, but not all questions are admitted, which means that our idea of the past months not to question the euro area, but to mobilize the government and the opposition to pursue a nationally important goal, is in fact right,: he said.
Referring to upcoming protests by opposition parties against the adoption of the euro, Slavov noted that everyone has the right to protest, but decisions are taken in the National Assembly.
Yes, Bulgaria co-chairman Ivaylo Mirchev warned of a problem with eco fees. At the moment there are four organizations for the recovery of technological waste, three of them raise very seriously the eco-fees by between 800-1000%, which will increase the prices of washing machines, dryers, microwave ovens, and inflation, explained the MP. That is why they were going to ask for a plenary hearing on the issue. “We can’t allow just when we are entering the eurozone and we have to watch out for speculation, for prices to be raised sharply, especially since there is no reasonable argument,” Mirchev said.
Yes, Bulgaria also commented on the issue of the discoveries of the illegal care homes. “We propose to elect an ombudsman who has the right to make checks under the national preventive mechanism,” Stella Nikolova explained. In addition, the institution of the national ombudsman has made proposals to criminalize unlicensed social services, she added. It is clear, Nikolova stressed, that for years the state has neglected this problem. She recalled that in the 49th Parliament they had raised the issue of the rights of the mentally ill through an ad hoc committee.
