Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov will participate in this year's first meeting of the NATO Military Committee, which will be held on January 21 and 22 in Brussels, the Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.

The agenda of the forum includes discussions on current issues related to the security situation, as well as a presentation of the progress made in the implementation of innovative technologies in the NATO defence planning process.

Special attention will be paid to interaction with partners and the global security situation. Separate sessions will be held with Ukraine and Georgia to discuss the allies' options for providing additional assistance to both countries. The development of cooperation with partner countries in the Indo-Pacific region is also expected to be discussed.

The discussions that will take place within the framework of the forum and the resulting strategic-level decisions will form the basis for the further work of the individual structures and commands of NATO and the armed forces of the allied nations to implement the goals and tasks set for the Alliance by the heads of state and government, the statement said.
