The Velichie party has filed a complaint to the Gotse Delchev Prosecution Office, the Blagoevgrad Regional Prosecution Office, the acting Prosecutor General, the outgoing Interior Minister, and the outgoing Chair of the National Assembly in connection with an assault against Stanislav Zhulev – a member and official coordinator of the party for Gotse Delchev, the party’s press center announced on Tuesday.
The signal concerns an attack during which the victim was beaten with wooden sticks, received direct death threats, and for which there is evidence of an attempted serious crime against the person, the statement said. During the beating, the attackers reportedly shouted, “We will kill you,” expressed an intention to complete the act by saying, “Let’s drown him in the canal!”, and subsequently issued a threat of further assault: “We know where you live. We know what we can do to you.”
The party insists on the immediate initiation of procedural and investigative actions, the identification and criminal prosecution of the perpetrators and all possible accomplices, as well as the adoption of urgent measures to protect the victim and his family, the statement said.
