The vote of no confidence was relatively successful — another political force has joined the fight against the “Peevski yoke,” said Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov, adding that “the Government now fully depends on [Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning leader] Delyan Peevski”. Mihaylov was speaking to journalists on Thursday, following the no-confidence vote against the Cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov over corruption.
The MP noted that There Is Such a People party has remained silent, after Democracy for Rights and Freedoms, the guarantor of Delyan Peevski not being in the Government, has exited the ruling coalition.
According to Mihaylov, a possible future vote of no confidence could focus on environmental issues, as he argued that the Government is failing to tackle illegal landfills. He also pointed out that in some municipalities, criminals are threatening ordinary citizens who report such issues, and said that Velichie party will take action against such criminal activity.
