Lufthansa has cancelled a total of six flights to and from Sofia, the Vasil Levski Airport told BTA following an inquiry.

One arriving and one departing flight on the Sofia–Munich route have been cancelled, as well as two arriving and two departing flights on the Sofia–Frankfurt route. The airline’s morning flight to Frankfurt departed as scheduled.

The flight cancellations are due to a strike by crews of the German carrier. Pilots and flight attendants from Lufthansa’s main airline, as well as from its cargo division Lufthansa Cargo, are holding an all-day protest over disputes regarding pay and pensions, a union spokesperson said.

The Vasil Levski Airport recommends that passengers follow real-time updates on the airline’s official website, as well as on the airport’s own website.
