Freedom is no longer a question of "can we" but "what did we choose," caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov said on Facebook on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising on Monday.
Gurov recalled that 150 years ago, young revolutionaries rose up so that all Bulgarians would have the right to choose and it was a right that Bulgarians exercised on Sunday. In his words, freedom is not a one-time awakening. "It is a necessity to stay awake, to think, to be vigilant, and not to be silent if we have to defend our freedom", he said.
"A tribute to the heroes of the April Uprising," the Prime Minister wrote.
In a video clip, attached to his Facebook publication, Gurov recited a letter from Bulgarian revolutionary and poet Hristo Botev to like-minded Ivan Grudov, Ivan Kavaldzhiev and Georgi Stranski.
