Speaking to journalists on Thursday morning, Tsarevo Mayor Georgi Lapchev said that the activities at the flood-hit municipality are now in stage two: restoration of infrastructure and clearing of the most critical areas. That is done together with volunteers, he added.

There are no people in danger or settlements without electricity, the Tsarevo Mayor specified. The tap water is not yet drinkable, he warned.

Service persons have been in the flood-hit municipality since Wednesday evening, Lapchev also said. "We will rely on military engineers to restore the bridges on the municipality's territory. We plan on building a temporary installation to provide access to pedestrians," he specified.

The experts are currently reviewing the damage, and Tsarevo Municipality awaits their positions to apply for state aid. "The material damages are huge. We will review additional areas today that which people are yet to reach. The water has destroyed almost everything it has touched," Lapchev said. He also said he will report on the first results to the Prime Minister personally later on Thursday.

The dams walls of the two dams over the village of Lozenets are seriously compromised. Them being empty is what saved the village and the Oasis complex, he added.
