site.btaBulgaria Approves Draft Agreement with Azerbaijan for Veliko Tarnovo Park Project
The Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved a draft agreement between the Bulgarian Government and Veliko Tarnovo Municipality on the one hand, and the Government of Azerbaijan, on the other, on cooperation for the construction and reconstruction of Shusha Park in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, the government information service said. The park is named after the town of Shusha in Azerbaijan.
The document advances the strategic partnership between the two countries in the fields of culture and people-to-people contacts and builds on cooperation between the municipal and local authorities of Veliko Tarnovo and Shusha, as historic cultural capitals of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. The construction of the park also represents a logical continuation of the established cooperation between the two towns, which began with the 2015 project for the restoration and conservation of the Trapezitsa historical complex and was further expanded through a Memorandum of Cooperation between Veliko Tarnovo and Shusha.
The implementation of the project will significantly improve and enhance the urban environment for the residents of Veliko Tarnovo and will make the town more attractive to foreign visitors.
