The installation of anti-drone systems at all Bulgarian airports is expected to begin in the next few months, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov said during Friday's Question Time in Parliament. He was asked about the safety measures Bulgaria has taken in light of a February incident where an unidentified unmanned aircraft entered the airspace of Sofia Airport, causing delays in civil aviation flights.

The Minister specified that after the incident, on behalf of the Civil Aviation Administration Directorate General, all airports were instructed to install anti-drone protection systems. Also, an urgent meeting was held of all the agencies involved in Bulgarian airports' security, and regulatory changes were outlined in a bill and two regulations.

The Minister of Transport assured that international experience in this field had been reviewed when outlining measures to protect airports.
