Italy’s Elisa Caffont won the women’s parallel giant slalom at the FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup in Bansko on Sunday.

In the final, Caffont defeated the overall World Cup winner and current leader in the standings, Tsubaki Miki of Japan. The Italian took a risk in the closing meters and managed to overtake Miki, who had been considered the clear favorite in the competition.

Bulgaria’s Malena Zamfirova finished fifth in the final standings.
