Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will welcome his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun, who is paying an official visit to Bulgaria on Monday, the head of State’s press secretariat reported. Aoun is visiting at the invitation of Radev, ahead of next year’s 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Lebanon.

The talks between the two heads of State are expected to focus on the prospects for developing bilateral economic and investment cooperation, as well as partnerships in high technologies, innovation, culture, science, education, defence, and security, alongside topics on the regional and international agenda.

At 11:30 a.m., President Radev will welcome President Aoun at an official ceremony on St Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia. The Lebanese head of State will pay tribute at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.

At the Presidential Administration building, Radev and Aoun will hold a tete-a-tete meeting, followed by plenary talks between the official delegations of the two countries. At 1:00 p.m., the two presidents will make joint statements to the media.

As part of his official visit, President Aoun is also scheduled to confer with representatives of the executive and legislative branches of government in Bulgaria.
